February 13, 2017
The theme for the 2017 Curry County fair is “5 Days of Fun!” based our New Year’s resolution to “Bring back the fun in 2017”!  The Curry County Fair will be held August 15-19, 2017. There is always something to do at your Curry County Events Center and we plan to make each event more fun than the last! That includes the Curry County Fair.
On Friday and Saturday night, CRC Rodeo Productions will be having a Championship Roughstock Rodeo at the Curry County Mounted Patrol Arena. The rodeo will feature broncs, bulls, and barebacks!
For all of the music lovers in Curry County, Thursday will be Tejano night inside the Curry County Events Center. Taking the stage will be Stefani Montiel with Ruben Ramos and the Mexican Revolution. Stefani Montiel is a 4-time Academy of Tejano Artists and Musicians Female Vocalist of the Year and has 6 Grammy Nominations. Montiel is known for her incredible vocals and tremendous performances. Ruben Ramos is known as one of the smoothest singers and classiest bandleaders in the history of the Tejano genre. In 1998 he was inducted into both the Pura Vida Hall of Fame and the Tejano Music Awards Hall of Fame.

For Country Music Night on Saturday, Flatland Cavalry will be opening for Kyle Park. Flatland Cavalry, based out of Lubbock, is an up-and-coming band formed in 2012. They are known through West Texas for their earthy country ballads and gritty folk ramblers. Kyle Park brings us something different than the typical Red Dirt music. His music is influenced by the likes of George Strait, Johnny Cash, and Merl Haggard with a jolt of rock ‘n’ roll. His singles have regularly settled in the Texas Music Chart’s Top 10 with a few reaching No. 1.
Immediately following the Junior Livestock Auction, Coby Carter and Five Miles West will take the stage inside the Events Center.  Coby Carter is a Lubbock, TX native who now attends Eastern New Mexico University. He is the 2014 and 2015 Academy of Western Artists Western Swing Male Vocalist of the Year. He and his band were also named Western Swing Duo/Group in 2015.

Before coming over to the Curry County Events Center for the concerts, make sure you stop at the midway and ride all the rides you can! Then head to our food court for a fresh squeezed lemonade and a smoked turkey leg. Save room for a Texas twister and a funnel cake.

New this year in the Pavilion will be live entertainment nightly! Stay tuned for more details.
The fair will absolutely be full of livestock that you walk around and see. The commercial barn is full again this year, so you can visit some of our local businesses and see what they have to offer. All of the wonderful arts and crafts and baking will be proudly displayed in the home and arts building.  Stop by the Ag Building for information on community, non-profit organizations, and other youth programs around Clovis and Curry County.
A new feature for 2017 will be the fun for all ages Bubble Tower and Stilt Party! Enjoy popping and chasing bubbles while playing on old fashioned stilts. This 14 foot tall tower will attract fair goers of all ages from toddlers to grown-ups!
As usual, Southwest Cheese is hosting the “Cut the Cheese” contest and the Truck Pull will be in the parking lot of the Curry County Events Center – both of these events on Saturday! Other annual events such as the Little Miss Curry County Pageant, Salsa Contest, Open Horse Show, Military Appreciation Night, Talent Show, and Pet Costume Contest will also be happening. Be sure to stay tuned to our Facebook page for more detailed information on all of the 2017 Curry County Fair happenings!
