Eastern Plains Council of Governments, in collaboration with the Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce, Clovis Economic Development (CIDC), the City of Clovis, and the Department of Workforce Solutions, are holding an Urgent Hiring Job Fair at the Clovis Civic Center (801 Schepps Blvd) on Wednesday, May 12 from 2-7pm.
Businesses and restaurants nationwide are in desperate need of employees. Without sufficient help, many of them are struggling to stay afloat – and a number of local businesses have already closed permanently. This job fair is the effort of several organizations and agencies coming together to hold one comprehensive job fair event that will connect job seekers with restaurants and businesses that need their skills. Employers will be available on site for interviews and hiring on the spot.
“The pandemic has been very tough on our businesses and people seeking work, but unemployment benefits and stimulus payments will not last forever. Those will go away,” explained Vincent Soule, Deputy Director for the Eastern Plains Council of Governments. “This is the perfect time to plan your next employment opportunity and there will be plenty of openings in a variety of fields.”
